We are behind Oyinlola – PDP

The People’s Democratic Party has said that it was strongly behind the sacked National Secretary, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, arguing that the court order, which removed him from office on Friday was unfair and uncalled for.

The National Legal Adviser of the party, Mr. Victor Kwon disclosed the party was already preparing to file an appeal at the Court of Appeal on Monday.

According to him, the party would also file an application for stay of execution same Monday.

His words: “Today is Saturday and so the appeal will be filed on Monday. We will also file an application for stay of execution same Monday.

“We are surprised at the decision in the light of the evidence presented to the court that the national secretary position was zoned to members of the party from the South-West geo-political zone of the country and not to the South-West zonal chapter/congress.

“Also that the March 21, 2012, South-West zonal congress did not nominate Oyinlola for the position and also that he stood the election at the national convention alongside other members of the party from the zone without any mention of the South-West zonal congress as an issue.

“You can see that we have a good case. We are solidly behind him,” he added.
