Stan Wawrinka on Sunday night, beat Novak Djokovic to win the US Open final.
The No 3 seed won the third Grand Slam of his career, with a 6-7 6-4 7-5 6-3 win at Flushing Meadows.
Wawrinka’s victory was down to his stamina and sheer strength as Djokovic became tired in the gruelling final.
The world No 1 has now lost to Sam Querrey at Wimbledon and was reduced to tears by Juan Martin Del Potro at the Olympics.
He has now lost the US Open final to Wawrinka, who only previously won the 2014 Australian Open and the 2015 French Open.
