“Wada Idris has shown that he is not governed by the Nigerian constitution” – ACN

It is with a sense of propriety and our profound faith in the entity called Nigeria as true democrats that we are obliged to advise the National leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to take very seriously the petition written by some elders of their political party as it relates to the delibitating state of affairs in Kogi state under Capt. Wada. That the crisis of leadership is synonymous with the Kogi state is a source of constant angst. But never since the dark years of military brigandage has this tragedy manifested so agonisingly than the Wada administration.

If the revelation had come from the opposition parties, the PDP would have found a very ready haven to hide. Now that it’s from within,we challenge you to talk and talk you must because Kogi is truly drifting.

While the former Governor Ibrahim Idris was very slow and  intellectually bankrupt, Wada is an illegal ‘treadmill’ Governor who appears to be perpetually in motion but still at the same point. The present occupant of the Kogi state government house, Wada Idris has shown that he is not governed by the Nigerian constitution. Anyone that thinks that Wada Idris would obey any existing or future Court order without the intervention of the appropriate authorities that are desirous of sustaining Nigeria’s democracy including the international community, should believe a stranger who tells you that you are not your mother’s child. If the people of Kogi State are to salvage their democracy, a much more concerted effort on the part of the international community as well as its population, is needed. You can get a government to see and hear no evil but not the electorate or the international community.

Wada had not made any progress since he took over as ‘Governor’ on January 30 after the Vice-President of Nigeria directed the Inspector General of Police to escort him to Government House Lokoja.

In the last 10months we have not seen any spark, policy pronouncement or dramatic action to move Kogi State forward from Mr Wada. In fact, Wada hasn’t performed below what we expected of him. This first 10 months are characterized by cluelessness, lawlessness, disregard for the rule of law and apparent lack of direction. We have only seen palpable flashes of profligacy as seen in the N900million Naira wedding of his God-father, Ibrahim Idris, which he (Wada) hosted at the Government House, Lokoja on the 6th of April,2012.There is no action seen in any sector of the economy in the last 10months we expect the real government voted in by our people to do more but nothing has been done and there is no clear cut thinking on the part of this illegal government and mandate bandits! What we have seen is simply 10months of Fluphenazine-induced rigmarole!

In the the last 10months Mr Wada has wasted over 175 days in junketing between Abuja and Lokoja as well as globetrotting from coast to coast with the Vice President-Wada’s Imposer-In-Chief! He has only constructed one unit of ‘round-about’ with the statue of Lord Lugard to match, right in front of the Government House.

So, is it too much to demand that this government live up to its responsibilities like the PDP elders did? It is annoying to hear the State Government through the commissioner for Information castigate the Elders for asking the Governor to act like a Governor and perform. They say 10 months down the line is too early to measure Wada’s achievements. But does morning not show the day? They have forgotten that, one of the signatories and a former Ag. Governor in Kogi State, Clarence Olafemi under a PDP government established 5 Special Science Schools, a College of Education, awarded contracts for six major roads and built over 120 motorized boreholes in just 63 days. So far, this government has not shown the roadmap that the next three years will be different. There is a clear evidence that this government has nothing to offer Kogites in the long term? The phony achievements of this government will pale into insignificance when juxtaposed with its monumental failures. Youth unemployment, insecurity of lives and property, violent crimes, official corruption, worsening state of infrastructure, unprovoked police shootings of innocent Nigerians and many more have largely defined this administration

Let me place on record that, it is 10 months of trying to learn on the job. There is nothing glamorous about it. He has used the months in office to show to Kogites and Nigerians that he is not prepared for the office. He has succeeded in admitting to Nigerians that maneuvering your way into public office doesn’t translate into performing the functions of that office. In fact, the Idris Wada doesn’t have the slightest inkling of what the responsibility of the office of the Governor is all about. It is evident that Wada lacks the requisite capacity to pilot the affairs of Kogi State. One doesn’t need the services of a clairvoyant to understand this.

You don’t talk of Kogi State unless you want to see human suffering or a collection of miscreants on the pay roll of the state government waiting for executive directives to do odd jobs against perceived opponents.

I don’t need to tell you that the last 10months of this administration is a step towards more confusion, naivety, indecision and gross inefficiency in handling state affairs.
