Vote for Rochas in the interest of Ndigbo – South-East APC tells Imo residents

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has called on residents of Imo State to vote for Governor Rochas Okorocha in the supplementary election scheduled for Saturday.

In a statement issued by the APC spokesman in the South-East, Mr. Osita Okechukwu, titled: “Appeal to Imo People to Vote for Okorocha: the only Ndigbo’s Egg in New Nigeria”, he said such support was necessary in order to give Ndigbo a sense of belonging in the incoming government.

Rising from a strategic committee meeting at Enugu on Monday, Okechukwu, on behalf of the zone, appealed to the people of Imo State “to vote overwhelming for His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, in the governorship re-run election of Saturday, 25th April, 2015”.

According to him, “we urge the good people of Imo State to complete the good works they have started, for a vote for Owelle Rochas Okorocha is a golden vote to retain the only egg Ndigbo has in the basket of the new Nigeria General Muhammadu Buhari (GMB) is constructing. Every other geopolitical zone has a governor from the APC, even South South, where President Goodluck Jonathan comes from, we cannot be the only exception.

“Ndigbo lost the coveted price of Senate President for putting all our eggs in one Peoples Democratic Party-Basket for no rational reasons and may loose the speakership for not voting a ranking federal legislator.

“Habba my people how do we explain marginalisation this time around? When we have the opportunity to join the victory party. We all know how influential the governors and their forum are, therefore can we shoot ourself on the foot by blandly voting PDP?.

“Is it not shameful that the great Ndigbo, one of the tripod in our dear country, out of sentiment is missing in the National Order of Precedence – President, Vice President, Senate President if care is not taken Speaker, and Chief Justice of Nigeria? This lacuna makes it imperative for us to have one of our governors in the Progressives Governors Forum”.

Mr Okechukwu recalled how APC South East zone serially made passionate appeal to Ndigbo before the 28th March and April 11th general elections not to put all our eggs in one basket and that the appeal fell on deaf ears.

“We appealed to Ndigbo not to put all the eggs in one basket. I personally reminded our people of Senator Chuba Okadigbo’s premonition that GMB will form the bedrock upon which PDP will be shoved aside. Tabugbo! (Today is early), for our people to decide”, he maintained.
