The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has lamented how aides of influential personalities flout traffic and security procedures at airports.
FAAN Managing Director, Engr. Saleh Dunoma noted that the incidents had reached at a point “overzealous” aides beat up aviation security officials and also harass other airport users.
In a statement by FAAN’s General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Yakubu Dati, he said the behaviour by the personalities ran contrary to air transport operation regulations, in annexes 9 and 17 of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) convention.
He appealed to all VIPs and top government officials to comply with all civil aviation measures and procedures put in place by FAAN to ensure safety at all the airports.
