Patrick Vieira has said that the current Chelsea team, can match Arsenal’s Invincibles and go the whole Premier League season undefeated.
Jose Mourinho’s men have recorded seven wins and a draw from their first eight games and travel to Manchester United this weekend.
Vieira was the captain of the Arsenal team that went unbeaten on their way to winning the title in the 2003/2004 campaign and stretched the record to 49 games. When asked if the Gunners’ achievement will ever be matched, Vieira said: “Yes, of course. Records are out there for teams to beat.
“I think a team will do better than that, but how long it will take we don’t know? Maybe, Chelsea.
“I think one day that record will be beaten. I think that Chelsea look really promising. They have not specially played well but they keep winning and they look really strong.
“Physically, Chelsea look one of the strongest teams in the Premier League. They’ve got quality in [Eden] Hazard, [Cesc] Fabregas is back to his best and [Diego] Costa is scoring goals. So Chelsea look good.”
