Victor Osimhen has picked up the Golden Boot prize, following the conclusion of the 2015 CAF U-17 Championship in Niger.
The Golden Eaglets scored just seven goals during the competition, with only two players responsible for all the goals. Osimhen got four, while captain Kelechi Nwakali netted three times.
Osimhen’s first goal came againt Niger in the opening match. He grabbed a brace in the third group game against Zambia, before scoring Nigeria’s only goal in the 3-1 loss to Guinea on Sunday.
Nigeria failed to win any medal after that loss in the third place game, but have qualified to represent the continent at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile later this year.
