Victor Moses, Solanke given Chelsea squad numbers

The duo of Victor Moses and Dominic Solanke have been assigned Chelsea squad numbers.

Jose Mourinho had in the past days spoken highly about Moses who spent last season on loan at Stoke City.

“Moses is strong, he’s experienced. He’s fast, he’s aggressive,” Mourinho told the post-match press conference, after the loss to New York Red Bulls.

“He has to learn to play with us obviously. But I’m happy with his week, with his 45 minutes. The next match, 45 more minutes.

“Victor had an evolution over the last couple of years.”

Moses will wear the number 20 shirt last worn by Deco.

Academy players Solanke and Ola Aina, who performed impressively with the youth team last term, have been handed the no. 35 and no. 34 jerseys. Ruben Loftus-Cheek retains his no. 36 shirt.

Moses and Solanke are in line to play in Saturday’s pre-season game against Paris Saint-Germain.
