Ex-Super Eagles player, Mutiu Adepoju has reacted to the retirement of Nigerian-born Chelsea player, Victor Moses, from international football.

Recall that Moses on Wednesday evening announced his retirement from the Super Eagles, via his Instagram page.

Adepoju, however, advised Nigerians to take Moses’ retirement from the national team in good faith, adding that the former Liverpool star has served the country well.

The Guardian quoted Adepoju as saying: “Moses’ retirement from the Super Eagles should not be seen as a reflection that things are not going well in the team.

“If Moses believes that retiring early from the Super Eagles would help him in his career, there is no need to question that decision. A player can take a drastic decision on his career at any point to focus on matters important.

I wish Moses the best in his future endeavours,” he said.

Moses was instrumental to Super Eagles’ conquering of Africa in 2013 and represented the country in two World Cups – 2014 and 2018.

He scored 12 goals in 37 appearances for the Super Eagles.
