Valdes agrees two-year deal with Manchester United

Manchester United have agreed an 18-month deal with Victor Valdes and an announcement is imminent.

The former Barcelona goalkeeper, has been training with the Old Trafford outfit for the past two months as a free agent.

Valdes’ arrival will provide competition for David De Gea, who has been in fine form for the Red Devils this season, with Anders Lindegaard on his way out.

It will also increase speculation about De Gea’s future. The young Spanish stopper has not signed a contract extension with United yet and Real Madrid are keen to sign him as a long-term replacement for Iker Casillas.
