Uyo to host NPFL Super Four

The 2016 Nigeria Professional Football League Super Four, will be played at the Akwa Ibom International Stadium, from January 18 to 20.

Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna and the National Stadium in Abuja, were the other stadia considered for the tournament, but the League Management Company (LMC), chose the ‘Nest of Champions’.

Current NPFL champions Enyimba, Warri Wolves, Nasarawa United and Akwa United are the four teams that will participate in the three-day competition.

The Super Four will serve as preparation for the teams, which will represent the country in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.

Nigeria’s U-20 team won the 2014 edition in Abuja.
