A faction of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, has accused Chief Ralph Uwazurike of sacrificing his members for selfish gains.

Reacting to the arrest and purported Killing of MASSOB members, a rival group with Comrade Uchenna Madu as its spokesman said in a statement that: “Our faction sympathises with the brainwashed and hypnotised members of Uwazuruike faction who stupidly died and or were detained on the occasion of celebrating the 16 years anniversary and after police invasion of Uwazuruike’s residence opposite Ojukwu Memorial Library at Owerri, Imo state”.

He claimed that “after some consultations with Abuja, Ralph Uwazuruike was released after assuring the police that the anniversary will not hold and when he returned to Owerri he fled to Lagos without telling his members to call off the anniversary or celebrate indoors.

“If Ralph Uwazuruike is a selfless leader who has the interest of his members of at heart and who still believes in MASSOB programmes and possibility of Biafra Actualization, which church did he attended his own thanksgiving?

“Did he celebrate in his house or hotel? Why is it that Ralph Uwazuruike did not attend any church in Igbo land to celebrate the 16th year anniversary of MASSOB struggle to actualize Biafra?”

He laughed at the struggle, saying that for the past 16 years, no single aim of the movement has been achieved and concluded.

“We condemn the stupidity and insensitivity of some of Uwazuruike’s factional members who always endangered their lives because of Ralph Uwazuruike who has no single interest in their personal and family welfare,” he further stated.
