Residents of Ushafa, one of the communities surrounding Abuja, on Wednesday morning demonstrated against the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, over lack of electricity supply to their area.
The residents, in their numbers, took their protest to the AEDC office at Bwari Area Council, shutting down the office.
DAILY POST reports that the AEDC manager in charge of Bwari, Engr. Okoye, who was seen talking to the protesters, however, refused to address journalists, referring them instead to the headquarters of the company in Wuse, Abuja. The Divisional Police Officer, DPO, of Bwari, Mr. Danladi Isah was also on hand to address the protesters.
