Former Manchester United youth player, Eamon Dunphy has taken a swipe at France’s world-record signing, Paul Pogba, describing him as “useless.”
Pogba had a disappointing outing in Sunday’s 1-1 draw against rivals, Liverpool, conceding a penalty to the Reds when he handled the ball in the area.
The Frenchman’s performance has been heavily criticized by former Republic of Ireland international Dunphy, who said the 23-year-old former Juventus midfielder is not living up to his price tag.
Dunphy told RTE, “Pogba was never worth £100 million.
“At £20m he would have been expensive. With the money they’ve spent with Mourinho and [Louis] van Gaal, they should really have a better team.”
Although Pogba led Juventus to four successive Serie A titles, Dunphy has not yet seen the kind of performances he was expecting with Manchester United from the £100m signing.
He added, “Paul Pogba is very immature.
“He plays like a kid. He is not worth the money they paid for him and he won’t be worth the money they paid for him.
“He is the elephant in the room. He’s useless.”
