The President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, has revealed why Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, did not raise the issue of his alleged “shithole’ remark on Africans during their bilateral meeting.
Earlier this year, Trump was alleged to have questioned why the US would want to have immigrants from Haiti and African nations, referring to some as “shithole countries.”
The American leader said Buhari knows him and where he is coming from.
When asked if the issue was raised during their discussion, Trump told the news conference, “We didn’t discuss it, because the president knows me, and he knows where I’m coming from and I appreciate that.”
“We did not discuss it,” Trump said.
President Buhari had earlier said he did not raise the matter because he doubted if Trump actually said it.
