Since the outbreak of the Ebola virus in the United States where three people have been infected and one person confirmed dead from the virus, public concerns have heightened as to ways to prevent the further spread of the virus in the country.
According to the BBC ,the United States has put into effect a rule requiring air passengers from the three West African countries worst hit by Ebola to travel via one of five airports.
Persons travelling from the three West African countries, Sierra Leone, Liberia or Guinea must now arrive at O’Hare in Chicago, JFK, Newark, Washington’s Dulles or Atlanta, where they will be made to undergo thorough screening.
Travelers from these countries will have their temperatures checked as part of screening programmes.
The World Health Organisation is slated to summon an emergency meeting later today.
The Ebola virus since its outbreak has claimed more than 4,500 lives. Most of the death incidents were recorded in Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria.
