The United Progressives Party (UPP) has reaffirmed that two-time House of Representatives member, Hon. Chudi Offodile and former aviation minister, Chief Osita Chidoka remain cleared as aspirants for the party’s primary election which comes up on Saturday.

The state chapter of the party led by Dr Sylvester Igwilo had last Monday announced the suspension of both aspirants, alleging indulgence in anti-party activities by both of them, to which the national headquarters of the party responded swiftly by dissolving the state executive committee with immediate effect.

National Publicity Secretary of UPP, Chief Ogbuehi Dike, who reaffirmed the party’s position on the aspirants said the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party was not going back on the dissolution of the Acting State Working Committee (SWC) in Anambra State, describing it as unfortunate and senseless rebellion.

“The rebellious acting state working committee (SWC) of our party led by Dr. Sylvester Igwilo was dissolved and a caretaker committee shall be constituted immediately to take control of the (SWC).
