UNN students go on rampage over sudden closure of school

Students of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN, have gone on rampage over the sudden closure of the institution.

The University administration had earlier in the day shut down the school and asked students to vacate hostels immediately.

The move, DAILY POST had earlier reported was to avert a protest planned by the students later in the week.

Students and staff of the university had for some weeks now faced acute water scarcity and erratic power supply.

However, a student, who spoke to our correspondent, said there is currently a serious rampage by angry students.

She said trouble had started when the university authority put up measures to enforce the closure, a development she said elicited violent reaction from students.

“There is confusion everywhere as the students are moving around violently; everybody is running helter-skelter”.
