Insiders at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), have admitted they cannot sack Stephen Keshi as coach of the Super Eagles, because of the powers that be.
The Big Boss was initially dismissed as coach of the team, but was reinstated after President Goodluck Jonathan’s intervention and took charge of the final two Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches.
Ever since the African champions failed to qualify for next year’s tournament in Equatorial Guinea, a lot of people have been calling for Keshi to be booted out. But a source who spoke to Vanguard, explained why it will not be so easy.
“The last time we did what we thought was best, we were forced to revert the changes by people in high places. This time around we are helpless,” the source said.
“We are scared of announcing we won’t renew his deal due to what happened last time and unless he resigns or walks away we can’t help out.”
