‘ Prof. Enefiok Essien has been appointed the new Vice Chancellor of University of Uyo (UNIYO).
This was contained in a statement issued in Uyo on Monday by the university and signed by the Registrar, Mrs Edak Umondak.
It noted that the appointment would take effect in December.
The statement stated that Essien is a professor of Commercial Law, a two-time Dean, Faculty of Law, and Chairman, Committee of Deans, UNIYO.
“Prof. Essien is taking over from Prof. Comfort Ekpo, who is completing her five-year tenure as Vice Chancellor, University of Uyo at the end of November 2015.”
It added that the emergence of Essien followed a painstaking thorough and uncompromising transparent process and urged the university community to give him the support he required to succeed.
