Among those sacked was Mrs. May Nwoye, the university’s former Bursar. Also affected were two other professors of the University.
A statement by the registrar of the University, Mrs. G.O Ogboghodo said Nwoye’s offence was that she abandoned her duty post after she left the office of the bursar.
Meanwhile, the university was recently ranked as the most sought after institution in the country with a total number of 102,900 applicants in 2013, while universities of Ilorin, Lagos, Nnamdi Azikiwe University and University of Nigeria Nsukka came second, third, fourth and fifth respectively.
