‘Uncompleted’ hospital commissioned by Atiku was built by Fayemi’s crony – P

The Ekiti State government has lambasted ex-Governor Kayode Fayemi for the commissioning Oba Adjugbe Hospital in Ado Ekiti, the state capital even when it was yet to be completed.

The hospital was inaugurated by former vice president Alhaji Abubakar on October 6 as part of activities to celebrate Fayemi’s fourth anniversary in office and winding down activities.

A statement signed by Governor Ayo Fayose’s Special Assistant on Public Communication, Mr Lere Olayinka, said the action by the former governor was a desperate bid to show that he actually performed while in office.

Olayinka noted that “The Oba Adejugbe General Hospital in Agric Olope Area of Ado-Ekiti that was commissioned on October 6, 2014 is yet to be completed as at today.

“All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant, Abubakar was brought to Ado-Ekiti by former governor Fayemi to commission the uncompleted project.

“The project was handled by a company owned by the Chairman of E-11, Mr Femi Ajiniran. As at today, the building is still being painted while other structural works are still going on there.”

But the APC in the state said there was nothing wrong in inaugurating the project because it had all been paid for.

Its spokesman, Mr Taiwo Olatunbosun, said “the claim by the Fayose government that the Oba Adejugbe hospital is incomplete before commissioning is another idle talk from a government, who once again exhibits its ignorance on building construction”.
