The National Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Victor Umeh has been accused of sponsoring the lingering crisis in the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB.

Chief Umeh, who had earlier reportedly pleaded with the Federal Government to grant MASSOB members amnesty, was also accused of inciting some members of MASSOB against their leader, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike.

MASSOB Regional Administrator, Nnewi South, Chief Anthony Nwodo made the allegation in Onitsha, where he criticized the embattled MASSOB Director for Information, Uchenna Madu for having the guts to attack Chief Uwazurike for sacking dissidents members of MASSOB.

According to Nnewi South Regional Administrator of the group, Chief Victor Umeh and Uchenna Madu were causing disaffection among MASSOB members by their utterances and actions.

He maintained that for the MASSOB spokesman, Uchenna Madu, Chief Uwazuruike had treated him like a son since he joined the group and emphasized that Uwazuruike was instrumental to all the financial burdens of Mr. Madu’s late father’s burial and even marrying a wife for the spokesman.

He expressed surprise at the sudden change of attitude of Uchenna Madu whom he said had benefited immensely from Chief Uwazuruike, who had now turned round to burn the finger that fed him.

On Umeh, Chief Nwodo advised the police to arrest him as he had earlier boasted of commanding a section of MASSOB, stressing that MASSOB started experiencing one crisis or the other after the utterance.

He added that the statement later prompted the killing of some “dissident” MASSOB members.
