The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA for Anambra South senatorial zone, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu says he would retire Senator Andy Uba, the senator representing the area presently.
Ukachukwu who spoke to DAILY POST during a rally in his hometown, Orsumeyi in Nnewi South Local Government of Anambra State said he was in the senatorial race to help the people of the zone loosen the stranglehold Uba and his brother, Chris have had on the area.
Ukachukwu who also celebrated a recent victory in court, which pronounced him the rightful candidate of APGA in Saturday’s election said he was not surprised at the gang up against him by other candidates.
“I won my ticket to the senatorial race in a fair contest, and my opponent congratulated me. But I was surprised that the same person who visited me and pledged to work with me to move the zone forward turned around and went to court.
“I am not surprised because he was sponsored to do so. The other candidates know that I am the only one who can dislodge them, so they are trying to stop me from contesting the election.
“All the Ubas, be it Ifeanyi Ubah, Chris or Andy, I will beat all of them in this election, ” Ukachukwu boasted.
Andy Uba is the candidate of APC for the election, while Chris his younger brother holds the PDP ticket. Ifeanyi Ubah who hails from Nnewi is standing election on the platform of Young Peoples Party, YPP.
