Juventus manager, Massimiliano Allegri has defended Cristiano Ronaldo’s decision to stay away from the UEFA awards in Monaco that held on Thursday.
Ronaldo decided not to attend the Champions League draw for the new season, where UEFA also handed out their awards for the previous campaign.
The 33-year-old usually accepts his awards in person, and picked up the UEFA Forward of the Season before missing out on the Player of the Year to his former team-mate, Luka Modric.
Fans slammed Ronaldo for refusing to honour the invite, but his manager dismissed questions about the decision.
“It’s normal that Cristiano was angry after the season he had last year.
“Not attending was a personal decision and it should be respected,” Metro quoted Allegri as saying.
