UEFA lift Financial Fair Play restrictions on PSG

Paris Saint-Germain have had their UEFA Financial Fair Play restrictions lifted, after they successfully appealed their punishment.

The Ligue 1 champions were limited to a 60million euro (£42.5m) transfer budget this summer – of which, 12 million euros (£8.5m) had gone for the permanent signing of Serge Aurier from Toulouse.

UEFA has agreed to take away the limitations, as they want to encourage teams to be competitive and also for clubs to be attractive to potential buyers.

PSG and Manchester City will be the biggest beneficiaries from this new development.

Already, PSG are eyeing big-money moves for Angel Di Maria from Manchester United and Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid. Zlatan Ibrahimovic who has one year left on his current deal, might also be allowed to leave.
