Lionel Messi was in sensational form, as Barcelona beat Manchester City 1-0 at the Nou Camp, to qualify for the quarter-final of the Champions League.

The Premier League champions travelled to Spain, seeking to overturn a 2-1 deficit, but were blown away by Messi and co. The Argentine teased and taunted City and was provided the assist, which Ivan Rakitic lifted over Joe Hart for the only goal of the match.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men would have lost by a heavier margin, if not for fine goalkeeping from Hart and wasteful finishing by Neymar and Luis Suarez.

In the other game of the night, another Argentine – Carlos Tevez – was the man of the match, as he scored twice and set up Morata’s goal, to ensure Juventus won 3-0 at Borussia Dortmund. The Serie A side qualified 5-1 on aggregate.

The draws for the final eight, will be held this Friday by 12pm (Nigerian time).
