Katia Aveiro, sister of Juventus superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo has aimed a dig at Real Madrid star, Luka Modric after the Croatian midfielder won the UEFA Player of the Year award on Thursday night.
Modric was intrumental as Madrid won their third consecutive Champions League victory last season.
The midfielder also captained Croatia to the World Cup finals this summer.
He was awarded the UEFA Player of the Year ahead of Ronaldo and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah last night.
Modric received 313 points in the voting to finish ahead of Ronaldo, who received 223 points.
Salah finished third in the voting with 134 points.
In a post on Instagram, Katia Aveiro posted a comparison between Ronaldo and Modric’s goalscoring record in the Champions League last season with the caption: “That’s it! Take your conclusions!”
The Portugal captain’s agent, Jorge Mendes, had also branded the decision to give the award to Modric as “shameful.”
