Uduaghan mourns INEC’s former image maker, Steve Osemeke

Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State has sent his condolences to the Osemeke family of Onicha-Ugbo over the death of their son, Steve saying that he was a versatile media man with consummate experience.

Reacting to the news of Osemeke’s death, the Governor said that it was painful and saddening that the Delta has lost another talented man at a time the State was yet to recover from the shocking death of Senator Pius Ewherido.

According to him, Osemeke died at a period when he still had a lot to contribute to the State, the country and the journalism profession.

“Steve Osemeke was versatile in the practice of his chosen profession rising to become the Features Editor of Nigerian Observer in the 80s as well as emerging as the chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) of the defunct Bendel State,” Uduaghan said in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Sunny Ogefere.

“Osemeke was a successful public relations officer who served several Military Governors as Chief Press Secretary and later joined the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) where he also made Delta State proud by rising to become the Director of Public Affairs and later the Deputy Secretary of the Commission,” he added.

The Governor urged the children, the family and colleagues to take solace in the fact that Steve Osemeke lived a successful life, and prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.
