Uduaghan charges DSS to track down Kelvin Oniarah’s gang members

Uduaghan

Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, had charged Directors of Department of State Service, DSS, in the South-South region, to do everything within their powers to track down all accomplice of the arrested Delta kidnap kingpin, Kelvin Oniarah, for the safety of the state.

The governor charged the SSS yesterday at the Government House Annex, Warri, when the DSS directors paid him a courtesy call while in the state for a zonal conference on “Kidnapping and Violent Crimes-Socio-Economic Implications and Control Measures.”

Uduaghan while addressing the Directors said; “I commend the DSS for the eventual arrest of Kelvin, we know the efforts that were put in place, we also know it is doing something to get the remnants of Kelvin gang- that is the challenge.”

The Governor stated further that the government needed reliable security details from DSS on the identities of those involved in oil theft. He said that the right people were yet to be arrested as those arrested were mere errand boys.

He said that a synergy between state governments was important in tackling the menace of kidnapping in the South South region.

According to him, “there may be kidnapping in Delta state, the victim will be taken to Edo state and the negotiation for the release will be done in Rivers state. There is really no boundary in their operation, except there is information and synergy; it will be difficult to handle them.”
