Despite sitting on top of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) table, five points ahead of the chasing pack, Enyimba captain Chinedu Udoji, insists winning the title is not a done deal.
Udoji scored twice last weekend, as the Aba side beat Wikki Tourists 2-0, but he is wary about the remaining seven games.
“I’m happy I scored over the weekend but most importantly I’m happy my team won the game and the three points in the bag too,” Udoji said.
“We have, however, put that win behind us and we are focused on the next task ahead because this is the time to concentrate more.
“You can do everything right at the beginning of the season but if you fail now that the league is about to finish then all your hard work will go to waste.
“So right now there is no talk about winning the league. We are not even talking about in our camp.
“Right now we are just taking it one game after the other and we do what we have to do in the games remaining. It will happen when it will happen.”
Enyimba have not won the league in five years.
