Udoji dreams of winning NPFL title with Kano Pillars

Kano Pillars’ defender, Chinedu Udoji, has said his ambition is to win titles with Kano Pillars.

Pillars defeated his former team, Enyimba 3-1 at the Sani Abacha Stadium, thanks to Kabiri Balogun’s brace and Gambo Mohammed’s goal.

“I’m very happy we won against Enyimba though it was not easy,” Udoji told Goal.

“We have begun to understand ourselves as a team gradually and improving with every game.

“Most of the players in Pillars last season and some of us that join the team are trying to understand ourselves. The coach is trying to build a new team.

“I’m very eager to contribute my own quota and not put myself under any pressure for the past four games we.

“Yea, I have to say that I’m a very ambitious person. Anything I’m trying to do, I want to make an impact. Joining Kano Pillars is a top challenge for me.

“Most people complained about my decision to leave my captainship role in Enyimba and joining a team that has not won a trophy in two years.

“I love challenges and I recalled when I was joined Enyimba in 2010, the same way many complained that I’m a young player and I’m not going be able to play because of Odita and others.

“But I gave my best to make an impact and stamped my authority in the team. I believe in anything one is doing, one must work hard to make an impact. I’m just looking at Kano Pillars as a starting point of my career.

“I believe personally, I have a lot to improve on. And Despite I had a slow start to adapting in Kano but gradually, I’m beginning to stamp my authority at Kano Pillars.

“First of all, I must give credit to the management of the team, the fans and the coaching crew as well as we the players too. We started the season very bad, but the last few games we have picked away points. We lost away to Lobi Stars, Sunshine, MFM – all by 1-0.

“We have only not been able to score goals if we had, we could have possibly picked a draw in those games.”
