Chelsea midfielder, Cesc Fabregas has revealed how his teammates reacted when they were paired with Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) round of 16 ties.

The Spain international said his teammates were happy to get the Catalan club in the knock out stage.

Fabregas, who joined the Blues in 2014 also said the players screamed in excitement when they found out about their opponent.

The 30-year-old said they just kept on shouting Barca before continuing their training for the evening.

“We were training,” Fabregas told reporters ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League clash.

“I think it was [Thibaut] Courtois who found out through the kitman or the goalkeeping coach, he started shouting that we got Barca.

“Then, we just got busy with the training again, that’s how we found out. It is an exciting tie,” he said.

The Premier League champions will play host to the current Spanish league leaders at the Stamford Bridge in the first leg of the knockout stage of the cup competition on Tuesday night.

The Blues will head to the Camp Nou for the reverse fixture next month.
