A UK based magazine: The Banker has named United Bank for Africa (UBA) as the “Best Transaction Bank” from Africa in 2014.
The bank got the award based on its e-banking platforms which have positively changed the way businesses manage their cash flow, payments, collections, liquidity, trade and value chain management across their business operations in Africa.
The magazine maintained that the judges were impressed by the bank’s clear demonstration of the improvements made to its transaction services business.
In the words of Transaction Banking Editor of The Banker magazine, Jane Cooper, “the judges looked at entries that demonstrated a clear strategy, as well as improvement and progress in the last 12 months. Investment in technology was not the deciding factor, but rather improvements that are of real value to the bank’s customers.”
In welcoming the announcement, the GMD/CEO of the UBA Group, Phillips Oduoza, pointed out that the endorsement validates UBA’s concerted efforts in making sure that its customers across the continent are offered the best and most convenient solutions that are most critical to their business processes.
