Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan has called for the replacement of the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu.
This was after Magu, who was a guest on Channels TV on Tuesday, was seen with a lapel for Buhari’s re-election campaign.
Reacting, Omokri noted that Magu had vindicated former minister of defense, TY Danjuma’s claim that security agencies were no longer neutral.
The former presidential spokesman on his Twitter page wrote “On March 24, 2018, Lt Gen TY Danjuma (rtd) said the security services ‘are not neutral’.
“The next day, the Buhari administration attacked him in a most disrespectful manner. But with Ibrahim Magu’s action of wearing President Buhari’s re-election lapel pin, hasn’t Danjuma been vindicated?
“Recently, the Buhari administration released a so called ‘looters list’ exclusively containing names of prominent opposition members. Not one APC member was on that list despite glaring cases of corruption against them. Magu’s behaviour explains why no APC member made that list.
“I hereby call on President Buhari to restore faith in Nigeria’s civil service and its security and military forces by immediately replacing Ibrahim Magu as the acting Chairman of the EFCC and imposing punitive measures on him to deter other civil servants with a similar streak.”
DAILY POST recalls that Danjuma had warned Nigerians to defend themselves against ethnic cleansing, stressing that the Nigerian Army was no more neural in the fight against terrorism in the country.
