Two years in office: Ohanaeze hails Ugwuanyi on rural transformation

The National Secretary of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, has described Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s two-years in office as a period of phenomenal transformation of the fortunes of the Enugu people.

Okwu in a statement he made available to journalists in Enugu hailed Ugwuanyi over what he called “uncommon uniform development at the rural areas.”

He stated that in spite the lean resources at the disposal of government, Ugwunayi had shown experience and capacity in leadership by initiating life-touching projects across the 17 local government areas in the State.

The Ohanaeze scribe, who hails from Achi in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State, stated that “nobody would have thought that Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi will do much considering the economic situation the country found itself.

“However, instead of giving excuses or blaming past administrations as some are doing, he has demonstrated a strong capacity to transform Enugu State.

“We have taken notice of simultaneous developmental projects going on across the rural communities in Enugu State.

“We have taken note of his government’s priority in payment of workers’ salaries. This is no mean feat because human development is central to any transformation agenda. While many labour unions across the country are at war with their governors, Ugwuanyi is here receiving award because he has shown commitment to workers’ welfare.

“Beyond this, some federal roads, which were hitherto impassable have been rehabilitated by this administration. One of such roads is the Oji-River-Onitsha Road, which was cut by erosion, but has since been totally reconstructed by this government.

“In terms of appointment, every part of the State has received its fare-share in its administration. The youths are also occupying several positions in Ugwuanyi’s government.

“We call on other governors to indeed emulate Ugwuanyi. He is indeed the man with the magic-wand and to us in Ohanaeze youths, he is a role model.”

He called on Enugu people to continue supporting the government in its march towards creating a first-class state, stressing that “all forms of unnecessary distractions should be avoided to allow the Governor continue the great work he is doing in Enugu.

“We are so proud of him and we urge everybody, irrespective of political and religious divides to give him maximum support.”
