One Ayomide, an apprentice at a fashion designing shop, has allegedly abducted his boss’s two-year-old son, David Sunday Ushie, in the Ajegunle area of Lagos barely four days after he resumed work.

The abducted boy’s mother, Mrs Ushie, had reportedly kept her son in custody of the 25-year-old apprentice on September 17, 2015.

The mother, on arrival same day, didn’t find her son and the apprentice. All efforts made to reach Ayomide on the phone were futile, Vanguard reports.

Mrs Ushie’s father, Mr Ogar Anyogor, reacting on the incident, said no call had been made to the family to demand for ransom for the release of his grandson.

Anyogor said, “It’s been 10 days since the disappearance of my grandson. Nobody knows where Ayomide lives. He was introduced to my daughter by someone she had known for long.

“My daughter is devastated. She has not had her bath since David was kidnapped. The cloth she is putting on now was the one she wore on the day David was kidnapped by Ayomide.”

Anyogor said Ayomide had only paid N5,000 of the amount requested for his apprenticeship.

‘’He has not even bought the drinks and other things needed before he would begin his apprenticeship. He promised to bring them on Friday, September 18, 2015, unknown to my daughter that he had his ulterior motives lined up.

Reports say the case had been reported at the Ajeromi Police division, where the man who stood as surety to Ayomide had been arrested.

Police sources, however, reportedly hinted that as at today (Monday, 28th September), effort was still on to track Ayomide and rescue the two-year-old boy.
