The police in Enugu state have confirmed the electrocution of two residents of the state.
One of the victims, Ugochukwu Adaba, a native of Ugbala Isieke in Izzi local Government Area of Ebonyi State, was electrocuted at Adelabu Street, Uwani, in Enugu.
The second victim, Cletus Udeh, a native of Umungwu Agbanano village Amoli Awgu was allegedly electrocuted in the house of one of his friends from the same village.
While Ugochukwu reportedly died on the process of fetching water from an under ground well, Cletus met his untimely death while he was plugging an item to a sucket.
Confirming the two incidents, the police spokesman in the state, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu said that “Ugochukwu met his untimely death as he was trying to fetch water in the yard but unknown to him, a a wire was naked, and he got electrocuted at the process”.
He added that his body has been deposited at the mortuary of the Eastern Nigeria Hospital, Enugu for autopsy.
In the case of Cletus, Amaraizu disclosed that he was electrocuted “while trying to plug in something to the circuit”. He, however, said the police had commenced full investigation on both incidents.
