Two persons have been reportedly injured as supporters of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP and the All Progressives Congress, APC clashed in Abraka community in Ethiope-East Local Government Area of Delta State.
DAILY POST reports that no casualty was recorded at the time of filing this report but there were bonfires around major streets of the university community.
It was learnt that the clash started between one Elder Kelly, a PDP member and some die-hard supporters of the APC.
A source who craved anonymity told our reporter that, “followers of the PDP member felt he was assaulted by a member of the APC. This caused the clash between both parties.”
Contacted, the Delta State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka confirmed the re, ort saying, “The situation is under control.
DSP Aniamaka said,” The Police waded in and normalcy has been restored. There’s no tension.
“We are doing our best to let the people know that they are one irrespective of their political affiliations.”
DSP Aniamaka noted that the two injured persons are currently receiving medical treatment at an undisclosed hospital within Abraka community.
This is coming as PDP and APC Supporters resumed their clash on Monday morning at Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.
