Two feared dead as police, robbers clash in Kogi state

Two robbers have been reportedly killed in a clash between the Kogi State Police Command and some bandits after a failed operation in Lokoja, Kogi State capital.

It was gathered that the heavily armed men, about six in number stormed the new generation bank in Lokoja around 11 am, but were prevented from entering into the bank by the security operatives.

Addressing news after the fire exchange, the State Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Musa Katsina said the bandits came to the premises of the bank attempting to rob customers of their money. According to Kastina, some robbers who are from Imo State, Eastern Nigeria were already set to operate when intelligence report got to the ambush squad of the command, noting that that they mobilized and confronted the robbers, but on sighting the Police, the robbers opened fire on them.

The police boss said, luck ran out of them when they ran into a nearby bush where two of them were killed, two others arrested while two escaped.

He added that no casualty was recorded among his men.

Kastina gave the named of those arrested alive as Kenneth Nnorom and Vincent Mad. He assured that his men are battle ready for any criminal activities.
