An Illorin magistrate court has ordered that two farmers be remanded at the Federal prison, Oke Kura in Illorin for alleged cow theft.
The suspects identified as Kazeem Kusamatu and Waheed Isiaka are both from Agbamu village of the State.
Both suspects were brought before the Magistrate court on a two-count charge bordering on criminal conspiracy and armed robbery.
The crime was reported at the Agbamu Divisional Police Station on February 20, 2015 by one Abdullahi Ahmed of Gaa-Elega.
According to Ahmed, four hoodlums on that fateful day of the incident, at about 3:45am attacked him at his camp, brandishing dangerous weapons and tied his entire family, locked them up in a room, after which, they made away with four cows worth N600, 000.
One Kazeem was identified by Ahmed’s wife as one of the attackers.
According to reports by the Police, Kazeem upon his arrest, confessed that he along with two other member of his gang, Waheed Isiaka and Biodun, now at large committed the crime.
Corporal Foluke Akosile, the police prosecutor, during proceedings urged the court to remand the suspects in prison custody as the appeal for bail was objected pending the conclusion of the case.
Magistrate N. A. Ndakene consequently accepted the appeal by the prosecutor and ordered that the suspects be remanded at the Federal prison, Oke-Kura.
