Two fake soldiers, 5 criminals paraded in Rivers

The Nigerian Army on Friday paraded two fake soldiers and five other criminals arrested for different crimes in Rivers state.

One of the self-acclaimed soldiers, Abba Ibrahim was said to have paraded himself as a Captain.

Ibrahim used his fake identity to facilitate his illegal bunkering activities in the Niger Delta region.

While parading the suspects before newsmen, spokesman of the 2 Amphibious Brigade, Captain Lazarus Eli, said, “The suspect could not answer some of the questions satisfactorily.

“He was,therefore, arrested.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that Ibrahim was dismissed from the Nigeria Army in 2008 as a Sergeant.

“One of those paraded, Lucky Joseph, was also dismissed from the Nigerian Navy but had been posing as a lieutenant in the Navy.”

The image maker of the brigade noted that Joseph, a former Naval personnel dismissed from service in March 2016 was arrested by soldiers in Akinima, Ahoada West local government area of Rivers state.

“He presented himself to troops as a serving Lieutenant in the Navy,” Eli added, noting that the hoodlums will be handed over to the authorities for prosecution upon completion of investigation.
