Two crushed to death as car rams into truck along Abuja – Lokoja highway

Two persons were crushed to death in a fatal motor accident, which occurred on Sunday evening at Gada-Biyu village, along the ever-busy Abuja – Lokoja road.

According to an eyewitness, the accident happened at about 4:00p.m., when a Toyota Corolla car lost control and rammed into a stationed trailer.

He said the driver, who was on speed during a heavy downpour, lost control of the car, veered off his lane and rammed into the back of a parked truck.

The survivors were later evacuated and moved to Kwali General Hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, as the rescue operation was on, an unmarked tanker, which apparently had brake failure, knocked down two persons, injuring them severely.

Those injured, a man and a woman were taken on a motorcycle to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The Yangoji unit head of operations of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Amadi C. O., confirmed the incident, saying that the corpses had been deposited in the mortuary.
