Two brothers, Meshach Felix and Chinecherem Felix have been arrested by the police in Lagos State for allegedly kidnapping a three-year-old boy and demanding a ransom of N600, 000 from the victim’s parent before he would be released .
The arrest of the suspects was carried out following a complaint by one Mrs Mary Chidi, a resident of Dog Kennel, Railway Compound, Ebute Meta Lagos on June 14, 2018 to the Commisioner of police, Edgal Imohimi.
Mrs chidi said that she suspected one Meshach Felix who worked as a waiter in her restaurant to have abducted Chisom Chidi, her three-year-old son, and took her to an unknown destination.
She also stated that two days after the disappearance of her son, the said Meshach sent a text message to her, giving her a Diamond Bank account number 0081873532 belonging to one Chinecherem Felix to pay a ransom of N600,000 with a warning that her child would be killed if she doesn’t comply.
Imohimi Edgal who paraded the suspects on Thursday, in Lagos said; “Based on the complaint, I directed the Officer-In- Charge of Anti-Kidnapping Squad to investigate and ensure that the victim is rescued and suspects arrested.
‘’The squad went into action immediately and covertly located the suspects at Lokpanta Autonomous Community of Umu-Nneochi Local Government Area of Abia State, where the two suspects were arrested and the boy rescued on June 15.
The CP said the suspects would be charged to court as soon as possible.
