Nigeria’s premium online/print newspaper, DAILY POST, has now joined few newspapers in the country whose accounts have been officially verified by Twitter.
Checks by this reporter show that only few newspapers in the country have their twitter accounts verified. Apart from DAILY POST that got verified on Wednesday afternoon, Vanguard and The Guardian are the only others to have been verified.
Findings from the medium’s Twitter handle @DailyPostNGR, show that the handle has been given the significant blue tick by Twitter, a sign that it has officially been verified.
Confirming the development, DAILY POST Editor, Ali Adoyi said the management had earlier been informed that the handle was going to be verified, and that Twitter will be having a meeting with staff of the organization as soon as possible.
He said: “it’s a welcome development. The verification is obviously a proof of hard work and dedication on the part of staff and management, and we are happy about it. A meeting has been scheduled between our staff and a Twitter representative to enlighten us more on how we can manage our new status effectively.”
