Tuchel mocks Arsenal after Gunners’ 5-1 win over PSG

PSG boss, Thomas Tuchel has mocked Arsenal for their failure to make the Champions League for the second season running.

Tuchel spoke after Arsenal beat PSG 5-1 in a preseason game in Singapore yesterday.

The French champions were without World Cup stars Edinson Cavani, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar and were overawed by a near full-strength Arsenal.

When asked whether he thought PSG missed their senior players, Tuchel said “Yes, clearly.”

“I think they [Arsenal] are playing in the Europa League this season, right?” Just to remind Unai Emery’s side that they are not on the same level.

Arsenal finished sixth in the Premier League under Arsene Wenger last season and will again be appearing in Europe’s second tier competition this term.

Tuchel also denied ever wanting to coach Arsenal, adding, “To be honest, I made my decision before Arsene Wenger made his decision.

“I don’t know if I was ever meant to be his successor or not.

“I didn’t think about it because there was no question in the situation I was.”
