TSA: MDAs adheres to Buhari’s order as AGF commends compliance


The Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF), Ahmed Idris has commended all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) who have complied with the directive by President Muhammadu Buhari on the transition to the Treasury Single Account (TSA) in view of the September 15, 2015 deadline.

Mrs Kenechukwu Offie, Head of Press and Public Relations in the ministry, on Wednesday, said Idris while expressing satisfaction with the level of compliance, affirmed that the Treasury Single Account had come to stay.

Idris stated that the compliance was an indication that Nigeria was at the threshold of a new era of transparent and accountable management of Public finances.

Offie in a statement sent to DAILY POST quoted the AGF as thanking all the MDAs for their cooperation.

He assured them and the general public of the preparedness to ensure a hitch-free implementation that will bring about the actualization of the objective of the policy

The statement added that as at the close of Business on Tuesday, September, 15th 2015, almost all MDAs, especially the revenue yielding ones have all complied with the order on TSA.

The AGF further disclosed that sanctions will be meted out to any erring MDA.
