My name is Ola, I’m feeling so confused and lost at the same time. I’m 25yrs and have been dating Ife for the past 5years. Our relationship went through its ups and down. We were well known by everyone except our parents largely because of the religion difference. I am a Xtian and Ife is a Muslim. We’ve tried giving up on each other but couldn’t, we always end up getting back together.
His parents now know me and gradually accepts me, his siblings too. The problem now are my parents, I’m so scared of telling them even though they’ve been asking me, because I know they would never agree to such relationship. My siblings too can’t back me up because they can’t face my parent on such issue.
The option of getting pregnant as advised by some of our friends is a bitter pill both of us can’t seem to swallow, the consequences are just unbearable.
Ife is going for NYSC now and wants a concrete agreement between us, he’s scared he won’t meet me when he gets back.
Now I’m lost as to what to do, I love Ife so much but I can’t diss my parents and get married without their blessings.
What can I do?
Need honest advise.
