Troops rescue teenager turned to sex slave by Boko Haram in Borno

The Nigerian troops have continued to record breakthroughs against the Islamic sect foot soldiers, otherwise known as Boko Haram.

This is just as troops of 27 Task Force Brigade, Nigerian Army have embarked on a joint Operation nicknamed “Operation KARYA GWUIWA”, clearing operations on suspected Boko Haram terrorists hideouts at Ajigin, Golgore, Njibulla, Doksa 1, 2 and 3 villages located at southern parts of Borno State.

During the operation, they neutralized 37 Boko Haram terrorists at Ajigin and recovered 3 AK-47 rifles.

Unfortunately, a vigilante group member lost his life, while 5 soldiers were wounded during the clearance operation, a statement by Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, Acting Director Army Public Relations said.

According to him, the corpse of the late vigilante and the wounded soldiers have been evacuated and taken to the hospital.

He added that the troops also captured 1 Boko Haram terrorist named Musa Jubril and 1 female believed to be sex slave in captivity by the sects and recovered 8 Motorcycles, stored raw foodstuffs and beddings.

“The troops have continued with the clearance operation and also maintaining blocking positions to further neutralize and destroy any fleeing Boko Haram terrorists,” he added.

Few days ago, troops of eight Task Force Division Nigerian Army on Thursday intercepted a group of Boko Haram terorists suspected to be on a mission to loot logistics supplies in surrounding villages along Monguno-Brimari road, Borno State, recovering weapons such as 1 Fabrique Nationale (FN) rifle loaded with a magazine containing 10 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, 1 AK-47 rifle and 3 magazines from the terrorists.
