Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane, has confirmed that winger, Gareth Bale is close to leaving the Santiago Bernabeu for another club following his side’s 3-1 defeat to Bayern Munich in Saturday’s International Champions Cup encounter.
Goals from Corentin Tolisso, Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry ensured the Bundesliga champions defeated Zidane’s men in Houston.
Bale was left out of Real Madrid squad against Bayern Munich by Zidane.
The 30-year-old has been frozen out by Zidane, since his return to the Spanish capital at the end of last season.
The Welsh international has also drawn interest from Manchester United and Tottenham in recent weeks.
Asked why Bale was left out of Real Madrid squad against Bayern on Saturday, Zidane was quoted by Goal as telling reporters at post-match: “Bale did not play because he is very close to leaving.
“We hope he leaves soon, it would be best for everyone. We are working on his transfer to a new team.”
Zidane added: “I have nothing personal against him, but there comes a time where things are done because they must be done, I have to make decisions, we have to change.
“The exit is the coach’s decision, and also of the player, who knows the situation.
“The situation will change, I do not know if in 24 or 48 hours, but it will, and it’s a good thing for everyone.”
